we've moved on from the emperors in classics to revising greek tragedy and i forgot how dickish some mythological figures could be..i mean, anyone with the name 'creon' is just destined to be a prick who makes the wrong decisions, let's face it, and medea's beyond being a bitch (you know being a child killer and everything)

the only one i actually like is 'hippolytus' and that's probably because i have a weird crush thingy on hippolytus himself it's like drusus/narcissus all over again only this time hippolytus himself was this virgin obsessed with artemis who thought all women were evil manipulative whores

i've been thinking about the next fictionpress story i'll write when the star books are finished..

at the moment, i think that it's going to focus partly on the legend of the trojan war because i read the iliad last year and i loved it it's such a good story even if it was a little hard to read

i just think that there is so much more to the story than the horse and paris and the face that launched a thousand ships..the portrayal of the gods in homer's poem is really interesting to read and there are side plots to the story that are nice as well and plus i'm sick of the portrayal i see of paris/helen as if their story was some great romance because the way i see it, after reading the iliad, it was far from it

i think that people need to forget that the movie 'troy' ever happened or at least acknowledge its inaccuracy..like briseis wasn't trojan, she was a slave and achilles probably didn't love her at all

it wouldn't be set in ancient troy btw..it'd be set in present day. i'm still working it out haha
