i actually hate the film troy.

it's representation of the trojan war is all wrong, it's just completely and utterly wrong. and it really pisses me off when people use it as a reference point and do things like say they're 'quoting homer' for example, "Everything is more beautiful because we’re doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again."

this is not a quote from the original poem. there is no quote like this in the original poem. it just pisses me off because people think they're being clever, quoting homer, but they're not.

they're quoting brad pitt.

i've been thinking about the next fictionpress story i'll write when the star books are finished..

at the moment, i think that it's going to focus partly on the legend of the trojan war because i read the iliad last year and i loved it it's such a good story even if it was a little hard to read

i just think that there is so much more to the story than the horse and paris and the face that launched a thousand ships..the portrayal of the gods in homer's poem is really interesting to read and there are side plots to the story that are nice as well and plus i'm sick of the portrayal i see of paris/helen as if their story was some great romance because the way i see it, after reading the iliad, it was far from it

i think that people need to forget that the movie 'troy' ever happened or at least acknowledge its inaccuracy..like briseis wasn't trojan, she was a slave and achilles probably didn't love her at all

it wouldn't be set in ancient troy btw..it'd be set in present day. i'm still working it out haha
