i don't get how some parents can be SO controlling..watching this documentary and the mother won't let her go out with her friends, her response is things like 'why do you want to see them you see them all day at college you NEVER spend time with me' but the daughter rightly points out that she spends all her time with her mother because she isn't allowed to go out

then the mother is all 'i'm losing her' and it's like of course you are, you're not giving her freedom or allowing her to be 16 years old and see her friends like normal people
